OPEN STUDIOS 2025 …Trewidden Gardens, Buryas Bridge, Penzance

Last year was not a very productive time as far as my artwork was concerned, mainly dominated by a very busy Airbnb season ending with me breaking my hip and having a full new hip replacement, which meant more studio absenteeism
…. fully back on track this year, having started it by visiting family and friends in New Zealand and Australia for February and March …. wonderful for my recovery, walked miles, returned fitter, healthier and enthusiasm returned for studio practice!!

I think the work reflects the colours from my travels, people often ask if I sketch or paint whilst away, its something I find difficult to do, I’m not a landscape artist in the truest sense, my landscapes come from an internal space and an emotional reaction to where I have visited, they are dream or memory scapes, fragments of colour, texture and images.  The Cheese boxes were something I managed to do over Christmas period, we have a fabulous cheese shop based in Penzance, called Newlyn Cheese Shop (they moved to PZ), and I asked what she did with the old cheese boxes, so immediately I was given a huge bag full! they are rather random in their subject matter, they’re like my thought bubbles, whatever is going on in my head that day can be painted on the box!

Studio 3 is open from Saturday 24 May to 1 June.(NOT ON WEDNESDAY 28 MAY)..11am – 5 pm  … please come and visit,  there will be lots to see, chat about and also loads of cards for sale too.
